This decision involved dropping a protection order and seeking parenting time.

This case illustrates that the abiding duty of the court is to find the best outcome for the children’s interests. Counsel advised of a plan that included supervised parenting time in order to establish a pattern of positive reports. After successful negotiations toward this end, the client then declined to pursue the necessary steps and decided instead to be heard before the court rather prematurely.

Had the client followed counsel’s advice with regard to a schedule of supervised parenting time, their objectives would most likely have been realized. If your goal is to increase access with your child, there are definite advantages to implementing a supervised parenting schedule that will clearly establish that this is the most beneficial outcome for your family.
